Care You Can Count On Right in the Florida Heartland
You shouldn’t have to go far to receive the best care. That’s why AdventHealth Lake Placid, formerly Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center Lake Placid, has offered personalized healing and leading-edge treatments right in the Florida Heartland since 1948. Our three hospital locations in Sebring, Lake Placid, and Wauchula actively promote the eight universal aspects of CREATION Life — Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal Relationships, Outlook, and Nutrition. That means patients get a Choice in their care decisions, including the option for a second opinion. Patients and their visitors can take a moment for quiet reflection and uplift their Outlook in our hospital chapels. We also extend our mission throughout Florida's Heartland, partnering with local organizations and missions that help everyone in our community live healthier lives.

Patient and Family Engagement is very important to AdventHealth Sebring, Lake Placid and Wauchula. Engagement meaning consultation, collaboration and partnership between patient and families with our staff to improve the care and health and well-being of our patients and community.
Patient Engagement is a concept that will help to redesign our health care systems. A Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) partners patients and families with members of the healthcare team to provide guidance on how to improve the patient and family experience. Through their unique experiences, they give input on issues that impact care, ensuring that the next patient or family member’s journey is improved.
Patient Engagement allows AdventHealth Sebring, Lake Placid and Wauchula to provide care that is respectful of and responsive to patient and family needs, preferences and values. The mission of the AdventHealth Sebring, Lake Placid, and Wauchula Patient and Family Advisory Council is to collaborate with our patients and families to improve the overall patient experience for the health and well-being of our community through our CREATION Life principals. The PFAC is dedicated to ensuring every patient, every time receives exceptional whole person care by living our service standards.
The goals of the Patient and Family Advisory Council are as follows:
- Empower patients, family members, staff, and providers/physicians through ongoing education.
- Improve the experience for patients and family members
- Promote the best possible medical and emotional outcomes for patients and family members.
- Improve safety and quality.
- Foster a positive image through community relations.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the council (click here for application form) or would like additional information, please contact Cecilia Roman, PFAC Liaison, at Call863-402-3421 or e-mail at [email protected].
