Support for All Your needs From a Team That Truly Cares
- Hospital Amenities
-
During your visit to our New Smyrna Beach hospital, if you need spiritual counsel, a quiet meditation room, or information about visiting hours, just ask. Our vision for whole-person care means we’re dedicated to meeting your every need: physical, emotional, and spiritual.
Pastoral Care
As a faith-based organization, we realize that in times of difficulty, a little spiritual boost can go a long way. Our staff chaplain is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and volunteer clergy of various faiths are also on call to talk with you or your family members. They’re happy to provide emotional or spiritual resources, intervene in a crisis, advocate for your needs, or visit with you after regular business hours. To speak to staff or volunteer clergy, simply ask your nurse.
To make sure your spiritual and emotional needs are met, we also provide spiritual-care volunteers. Empathetic and supportive, these volunteers will help you find needed information, contact a leader from your own faith community, and visit whenever you need someone to lean on.
Meditation Room
Sometimes a quiet, peaceful space is just what you need for emotional healing. Our meditation room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to people of all faiths. It’s a safe place for reading, reflecting, praying, worshipping, or just enjoying the silence. You’ll find it on the first floor in the Patient Tower lobby.

- A list of prescriptions, but allow us to dispense your medications while you’re here
- A photo ID and your insurance card
What to leave at home:
- Personal valuables — leave your possessions with loved ones for safekeeping
- Personal items like a toothbrush and/or pajamas (You can bring these items from home, or we can provide them for you.)

A hospital stay can be an unexpected, anxious and lonely time, not only for loved ones, but family and friends as well. AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach knows that your spiritual care is also an important part of the healing process. That’s why members of the Department of Pastoral Care are available to you and your loved ones during your time in the hospital, providing you with spiritual care and support.
Contact a Chaplain
Patients, their family members or friends can request a visit from a chaplain, and we are also available to assist clergy or other pastors coming to visit their congregants.
The Spiritual Care Department can be reached at Call386-424-3840, or you can ask one of the medical staff to contact the Chaplain on duty.
Making the Details Easier So You Can Concentrate on Healing
Because you need to concentrate on resting and healing, we’ll help you take care of all the little details like refilling prescriptions and paying bills online. The links on the right will lead you to the resources you need.
A hospital stay can bring many visits and services from multiple medical providers. We know it’s hard to plan ahead for an emergency hospital visit, but if you have a scheduled health care service that requires a hospital stay, we recommend contacting your anticipated health care practitioners within the hospital to confirm they participate with your insurance provider. Services may be provided in the hospital by AdventHealth as well as by other health care practitioners who may bill you separately. By contacting your anticipated health care practitioners ahead of time, you can get information about billing practices and an estimate for your upcoming services to help avoid any unexpected challenges and fees.
