DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., — ORANGE CITY, Fla., Dec. 11, 2024 — The AdventHealth East Florida Division has promoted Farzad Nourian to vice president of mission and ministry, effective Dec. 29.
Nourian will oversee chaplaincy services, the clinical pastoral education program, and initiatives to deepen connections with local faith communities for the area’s largest hospital system with a mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
The AdventHealth East Florida Division includes seven hospitals across Flagler, Lake, and Volusia counties with nearly 1,500 inpatient beds. This growing network of care employs over 11,000 people, including a team of over 400 health care providers, including hospital-based providers and specialists.
“Farzad has a way of turning our mission into action—whether it is providing comfort to a family in need or building bridges with our faith communities,” said Audrey Gregory, Ph.D., RN, executive vice president and CEO of the AdventHealth East Florida Division. “His ability to lead with both strength and humility, coupled with his focus on our mission, makes him the perfect fit for this important role. I am confident that his leadership will help ensure our mission remains at the heart of everything we do.”
Joining AdventHealth in 2002 as a staff chaplain, Nourian has taken on increasing leadership roles, most recently serving as senior regional director of pastoral care for AdventHealth Daytona Beach and the East Florida Division.
“It’s an honor to step into this role and continue a mission that has been the foundation of my work for over 20 years,” Nourian said. “I look forward to building on the incredible legacy of this team and finding new ways to bring faith and healing to our communities.”
Nourian is an ordained pastor in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and holds advanced degrees in psychology, religion, and divinity.
