Board-certified urologist Dr. Tony Highshaw has joined AdventHealth Medical Group and cares for patients at AdventHealth Palm Coast and AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway.
As an AdventHealth Medical Group physician, he joins AdventHealth’s employed group of physicians with more than 400 health care providers, including 250 primary care physicians and specialists in Volusia, Flagler and Lake counties.
Highshaw has been practicing urology for 19 years. This is after extensive training in genitourinary oncology, a branch of urology focused on cancers of the urinary system.
“I enjoy the variety of community Urology,” Highshaw said. “I also enjoy giving patients relief by treating kidney stones to complex cancers such as prostate, kidney and bladder cancer.”
Highshaw specializes in treating kidney, bladder and ureteral stones, as well as cancers of the kidney, ureter, bladder and prostate. In addition to vasectomies, he also performs urological procedures to treat sexual and erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence and more. He performs robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery of the prostate and kidneys, along with a new minimally invasive solution for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), known as aquablation therapy.
His fellowships were at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and the University of California at Davis Department of Urology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California (USC) Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles. He did his first two years of residency in general surgery at the Los Angeles County Medical Center (USC/LAC Medical Center). He then completed his urology residency at University of California at Davis in the Department of Urology.
“I joined AdventHealth because there is a growing need for urology in our community,” said Highshaw. “I have worked in the AdventHealth system, previously. I like the whole life concept and believe we are treating and helping to manage all the different aspects of our patients.”
His practice accepts most insurance plans and patients 18 and older. His clinic is located inside AdventHealth Palm Coast at 61 Memorial Medical Pkwy., Ste. 3807, and can be reached at Call386-586-1705.
