- What to Pack
-
If you’re planning a stay at our hospital, we want it to feel as comforting as possible. And that might mean bringing some personal items. But we suggest you only bring the essentials and leave valuables at home, including jewelry and cash.
Consider packing:
- Dentures with the case and cleaning solution
- Glasses, contact lenses, solutions and cases
- Non-slip slippers and a robe
- Personal hygiene items
- Phone numbers of family and friends
- Small items like photos or books that bring you comfort
It’s also helpful to bring certain documents with you, including:
- Your health insurance card(s) for any policy that covers you
- Photo identification
- A credit card or check for any insurance co-payment
- A list of your medications, with the dose and how often you take them
- A copy of your advance directives, such as a living will or medical durable power of attorney
- Prior test results, X-rays or medical records, if your doctor needs them
- Workers’ compensation information, if applicable
- During Your Stay
-
While at our Parker hospital, you’ll meet with different people from your care team. A doctor or another designated care team member will visit you at least once each day.
Your nurses will also speak with you about your care plan multiple times throughout the day. As the patient, you’re the focus. We encourage you to participate in the decision-making and care processes.
You’ll likely see specialists from different departments, such as your doctor, primary nurse, discharge planner, pharmacist or physical therapist.
We also have hospitalists — doctors specializing in caring for hospitalized patients — available around the clock. They are familiar with hospital environments and how to provide the best care. The hospitalist will also work with your main doctor and other care team members to ensure seamless and well-coordinated care.
- Your Discharge Day
-
When it’s time to go home, we have case managers and social workers to ease your transition by creating the safest and most appropriate discharge plan.
You’ll need to have someone pick you up when you’re discharged. You’ll also need to follow up with your primary care provider.
- Spiritual Care for Extra Support
-
A hospital stay can be unexpected and cause you to feel anxious or even lonely. At AdventHealth Parker, we know that spiritual care is an important part of the healing process, and our chaplains are available to you and your loved ones anytime. They’re here to listen, offer guidance and offer crisis support. Feel free to request a visit from a chaplain at any time. We also welcome you to visit our chapel for a quiet, peaceful space.
Quick Links to Find What You Need
Whether you’re looking for billing information from a visit to our emergency room or planning an appointment with a doctor in a specialty like bariatric surgery or our breast care center, we’ve ensured the tools you need are just a click away.
A hospital stay can bring visits and services from multiple medical providers. And while we know it’s hard to plan for an emergency visit, if you have a scheduled health care service that requires a hospital stay, we recommend contacting your practitioners within the hospital to confirm they’re part of your insurance plan. You can also get information about billing practices and an estimate for your upcoming services. This will help you avoid any unexpected fees.
