AdventHealth Parker First in the State to Use New Surgical Robot

Choose the health content that’s right for you, and get it delivered right in your inbox.

AdventHealth Parker is the first hospital in Colorado to use the Intuitive da Vinci 5 (DV5) surgical system. This robot is used for general, bariatric, gynecological, colorectal and urological surgery as well as surgical oncology.

At AdventHealth Parker, we stay at the forefront of surgical technology to deliver better outcomes for you and your loved ones. Using some of the most advanced technologies available, we perform a variety of procedures for a wide range of health conditions — all with greater precision than ever before.

The da Vinci 5 is designed to transform surgery to enable better outcomes for patients, efficiency, and actionable insights. As with all da Vinci robots, the surgeon is always 100% in control of the system, which translates their hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the patient’s body.

There are more than 150 technological improvements built into the DV5. One of the biggest enhancements is the first-of-its-kind Force Feedback technology, which can reduce the amount of force on tissue.

Data from the Force Feedback technology goes directly into the DV5’s artificial intelligence engine. The AI then generates recommendations to surgeons, providing coaching on how to make improvements.

“We are thrilled to be the first hospital in Colorado to offer the new da Vinci 5 robot to our community. The DV5 offers the most cutting-edge technology which furthers the excellent care that our surgeons provide to their patients. AdventHealth Parker is dedicated to investing in our people, physicians, and patients,” said Becca McLuskey, Director of Business Development at AdventHealth Parker.

Our revolutionary, minimally invasive robotic-assisted technology gives our highly trained surgeons a remarkable level of dexterity and control, which means an easier — and faster — recovery for you or your loved one.
