Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear medicine is a specialized area of radiology that uses very small amounts of radioactive materials that are given orally or through an IV. The radioactive materials transmit an image back to your provider that allows them to examine your organ’s structure and metabolic function.

Interventional radiology is a minimally invasive approach to treat a wide variety of medical treatments. Radiologists or surgeons guide catheters or wires to an affected area to deliver targeted treatment.

- Preparing for Your Upcoming Screening

Knowing what to expect reduces anxiety and increases confidence. We need to know what to expect too, so before your exam, we’ll discuss your medical history and allergies. We’ll even ask if you experience claustrophobia and take steps to make your screening process feel less cramped.
For some tests, you may need to change into scrubs or a gown, and we may ask you to remove metal jewelry or electronic devices. Sometimes, you may need to fast before your test. To help us get a clearer look at the inside of your body, you may need to drink a liquid called a contrast, or we may inject this intravenously. Following your test, your recovery period will be fairly short.
We’re here to guide you from start to finish. After your test, a board-certified radiologist will assess your images, delivering results to your doctor as soon as possible.
