Care You Can Count On Right in the Florida Heartland
You shouldn’t have to go far to receive the best care. That’s why AdventHealth Sebring, formerly Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center, has offered personalized healing and leading-edge treatments right in the Florida Heartland since 1948. Our three hospital locations in Sebring, Lake Placid, and Wauchula actively promote the eight universal aspects of CREATION Life — Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal Relationships, Outlook, and Nutrition. That means patients get a Choice in their care decisions, including the option for a second opinion. Patients and their visitors can take a moment for quiet reflection and uplift their Outlook in our hospital chapels. We also extend our mission throughout Florida's Heartland, partnering with local organizations and missions that help everyone in our community live healthier lives.

Patient and Family Engagement is a priority at AdventHealth Sebring, AdventHealth Lake Placid and AdventHealth Wauchula. Engagement means consultation, collaboration and partnership between patients and families with our team members to improve the care, health and well-being of our patients and community.
Patient Engagement is a concept that helps redesign our health care systems. A Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) connects patients and families with members of our health care teams to provide guidance on how to improve the patient and family experience. Through their unique experiences, they give input on issues that impact care, ensuring improvement of the next patient’s or family member’s journey.
Patient Engagement allows AdventHealth Sebring, AdventHealth Lake Placid and AdventHealth Wauchula to provide respectful, responsive care to patients and families according to their preferences and values.
Our mission at AdventHealth Sebring, AdventHealth Lake Placid and AdventHealth Wauchula Patient and Family Advisory Council is to collaborate with our patients and families to improve the overall patient experience for the health and well-being of our community through our CREATION Life principles. The PFAC is dedicated to ensuring every patient receives exceptional whole-person care by living our service standards, every time.
The goals of the Patient and Family Advisory Council are to:
- Empower patients, family members, team members and providers/physicians through ongoing education
- Improve the experience for patients and family members
- Promote the best possible medical and emotional outcomes for patients and family members
- Improve the safety and quality of our care
- Foster a positive image through community relations
