Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a noninvasive treatment that alleviates symptoms related to mental health conditions. Deep TMS is a procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain and has been shown to safely and effectively treat depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder. It can often provide an option for patients who have not found sufficient relief with medication or psychotherapy.
Deep TMS can be used to treat:
Major depressive disorder
Anxious depression
Obsessive-compulsive disorder
What to expect from deep TMS treatment
20-minute sessions across a 4-week period followed by periodic maintenance sessions.
Magnetic pulses are sent to targeted areas through a helmet worn on the patient’s head.
These pulses feel like mild tapping on the scalp.
The patient will be comfortably sitting in a chair, awake and alert.
No systemic side effects commonly associated with medication.
Patients can resume daily activities immediately after each treatment session.

Quote
When I showed up on the first day of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), I was hopeless. Anxiety and depression were controlling my life. IOP taught me strategies and group therapy taught me that I wasn’t alone. The other patients were an inspiration. Day-by-day and week-to-week, I continued to improve. Six months later, I gave a speech to 500 people. IOP made that possible.

I started IOP at the lowest point in my life and my therapist completely turned that around in a few months. They have helped me through my hardest days. I genuinely don’t think I would be here today without them and everything this program has taught me. The work they do is life-saving. I will forever be thankful.
