Daniel Fontoura

Daniel (Danny) Fontoura is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. He was born and raised in Southern California, where he studied business administration at the University of California, Riverside, and worked as a computer programmer and analyst for the Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group. He then went to Yale University, earning his Master of Business Administration. After graduating from Yale, Danny spent five years with Arthur Andersen in their Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., offices in their Change Management (two years) and Healthcare Consulting (three years) practices.

In 1998, he was recruited to Loma Linda University Medical Center where, over the next 16 years, he worked through a series of progressive assignments, from Managed Care Finance Director and culminating as Senior Vice President of Adult Services and University Hospital Administrator. From 2015 to 2020, he held Chief Financial Officer roles at Riverside University Health System in Riverside, California, and PeaceHealth in Vancouver, Washington, before moving to Kansas.

Danny was born to Brazilian and Uruguayan parents and speaks Portuguese and Spanish. He and his wife, Vicki, have three kids: Claire, Caleb and Carsten. Danny enjoys reading, traveling, running, snow skiing and watching his boys play football and lacrosse.
