Join us in the kitchen as we prepare a few cozy winter-inspired dishes featuring seasonal ingredients in this interactive, hands-on cooking class.
Menu:
- Spinach & Artichoke Dip Two Ways
- Chopped Salad with Warm Cranberry Vinaigrette
- Savory Stuffed Winter Squash
- Warm Apple Pecan Chai Crisp
A few reminders:
- Please be sure to wear comfortable, non-slip, close-toed shoes to class.
- If you have long hair, please wear it pulled back.
- Aprons, gloves, knives, and cooking equipment will all be provided, but if you have a favorite apron that you’d like to wear feel free to bring it.
- Menu is subject to minor changes (only when necessary) based on ingredient availability.

Instructor Bio:
As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and practitioner of Culinary Medicine, Lisa Markley integrates the art of preparing, cooking, and presenting food with the science of medicine to optimize overall wellness. She combines the enjoyment of food with the scientific knowledge of how food and dietary choices may influence our metabolism, immune function, and the development of chronic diseases.
Lisa joined the AdventHealth Whole Health Institute in 2020 as the Director of Culinary Medicine where she develops educational programs with an emphasis on culinary medicine/nutrition and provides one-on-one nutrition consults. She has also been an adjunct nutrition instructor at Johnson County Community College since 2016.
During her time as a dietitian and culinary educator, Lisa has taught hundreds of cooking and nutrition classes and is passionate about educating and empowering others how to harness the healing power of food and healthful lifestyle changes.
