How Kathryn Leads at AdventHealth

Kathryn (Katie) Wiltse, Esq., MHA, CPC, joined the AdventHealth Mid-America Region as the Chief Legal Officer in August 2019. Katie serves as hospital legal counsel for the acute-care hospitals in the Mid-America Region, including AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, AdventHealth Ottawa, AdventHealth Durand and AdventHealth South Overland Park. She also serves as legal counsel for AdventHealth-employed physicians, AdventHealth Medical Group physicians and for the surgery centers in the Mid-America Region.

Before her current role, Katie worked for the AdventHealth corporate office as legal counsel for the AdventHealth Physician Enterprise, which is comprised of nine medical groups with over 2,000 employed physicians in 10 states. She was also responsible for the ambulatory care initiatives of AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division. Katie was previously in private practice with Swann and Hadley, P.A., and served as hospital legal counsel for the University of Florida – Shands Jacksonville Medical Center. Prior to her career as an attorney, Katie served in various administrator roles specializing in physician practice management.

Katie earned a master’s degree in health administration from Indiana University and was awarded the Abbott Laboratories National Fellowship. She graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in the top 10% of her class, where she served as the articles editor for the Law Review. Katie lives in Overland Park with her husband, Eric, and three children: Luke, Chloe and Grace.
