The Force was strong today at AdventHealth for Children! To celebrate May the 4th, Orlando native, Ashley Eckstein (author, entrepreneur, and actress, most known as the voice of Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars: Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars) paid a special visit to brighten the day of some of our patients.

Ashley is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, especially for our younger generation. Today, she graciously gifted our families a copy of her book, "Star Wars Everyday," which features family-friend activities organized by monthly themes, such as hope, friendship, and adventure.

Be a Mindleader Campaign

Thanks to our partnership with Heart of Florida United Way, AdventHealth for Children launched the Be a Mindleader movement to encourage more conversations around the impact that mental health has on the whole person.

This effort destigmatizes the challenges surrounding mental health within families by facilitating informed, life-changing conversations between kids and the adults in their lives.

Special thanks to our friends at Dr. Phillips Charities for helping launch our comprehensive pediatric and young adult mental and behavioral health program in Central Florida. Their gift of $6 million makes mental health care more accessible for children.
