Grandparents Class Overview

*Only ONE ticket/registration is needed for two people to attend this class :)

Preparing for a new grandbaby is exciting! There have been important changes to infant care, safety practices, and car seat laws in recent years. This class is a refresher/update course for those who have successfully brought your beautiful children to adulthood...and would like to review current expectations and safety practices for infants.

In this class, we will cover:

- Newborn Expectations and Procedures (in the hospital)

- SIDS/Safe Sleep

- Soothing Baby

- Shaken Baby Syndrome

- Staying Healthy

- Traveling with Newborn/Car Seats

- Poison Prevention

- Childproofing

- CPR/First Aid basics

- When to call the pediatrician

- Newborn Feedings

- Diapering

- Umbilical Cord Care'

- Nail Care/

- Bathing

- Support Person Tips

- Infant CPR and choking are reviewed and practiced. (No certification is provided)

*Class will be located in the Conference Center on the first/entry level floor of AdventHealth Castle Rock. Enter the hospital through the main lobby, pass the Welcome Desk and take a right down the first hall you see. The conference center will be on your right before you reach the end of that hallway!
