Give to Help Us Heal and Transform
As a nonprofit, faith-based community hospital in Castle Rock, we believe giving is part of healing. The value is not just in dollars raised but also in the emotional investment people make when we help connect them to our mission.
At AdventHealth Castle Rock, we’re dedicated to treating not just physical health problems, but also helping our patients heal spiritually and emotionally. This is an important part of our commitment to holistic health and our community’s well-being.
Our AdventHealth Foundation promotes a lifetime of whole-person wellness by investing in programs, services, building improvements, equipment and technology. Your tax-deductible support allows us to continue our mission of extending the healing hand of Christ and makes a meaningful difference in the lives we touch each day.
Patient Stories
Hundreds of people receive cancer diagnoses every year in Castle Rock and the surrounding area.
Since we don’t have a facility in town equipped to treat them, our neighbors must travel to find treatment. A 30- to 45-minute car ride presents a mild inconvenience in most circumstances. But for those in treatment, the commute can be physically and emotionally draining — especially for those receiving treatments multiple times a week.

- Marcy’s story
-
A mammogram saved her life. In 2002, Marcy Blair became one in eight when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a young, healthy, athletic woman, the diagnosis was shocking and overwhelming. Marcy asked herself: “Where do I go, and what is my next step? How do I decide what to choose and make decisions to win the battle?”
Her choice was eight rounds of chemo and 37 rounds of radiation — forty-five anxiety-filled round trips for treatment.
“Those are some of the longest car rides you will ever have. Especially hard was the chemo; the anxiety built with every mile. I also required rides to my appointments, which meant relying on wonderful friends and family for those trips, for which I am forever grateful,” she said.
Marcy describes the treatment as “a mental anguish in addition to the physical.” Each trip left her emotionally drained. She says it would have been a tremendous help if treatment were closer to home.
Twenty years later, she is in remission. Now, the vision of cancer care at AdventHealth Castle Rock — to build a cancer care center right here — has her full support.
- Melissa’s Story
-
When Melissa Sanchez’s doctors found a golf ball-sized tumor, it was diagnosed as stage four melanoma. Doctors were amazed she was alive. At that point, Melissa recalls: “I was terrified, confused, sad and angry. Nothing made sense. You’re left to choose your war plan from the options without the confidence in knowing if your choice will save your life.”
Melissa’s first step was leaning on her faith and willpower.
“I believe in the power of prayer. I needed to be strong for my children. The first step is to get up. The second step is to show up, but don’t just show up — show up in style and with a smile,” she said.
“The anxiety and emotional tolls are overwhelming, even physically draining. Every second you spend traveling to and from treatments feels like an eternity. You learn just how long a car ride can be when all you want is for treatment to be done.”
Staying close to home for treatment is something she dreams of seeing for her entire community.
