Your Birth Experience, Your Way
The birth of your child is a moment you’ll never forget. And that’s why, when you meet your little one for the first time, we want it to be perfect. Our care team at the BirthPlace at AdventHealth Castle Rock, is here to help make your delivery day, and the days leading up to it, all that you dreamed.
You shape your birth experience by telling us what’s important to you. Whether it’s deluxe pampering, an unmedicated birth or a high level of expertise for a complicated pregnancy, we deliver. Discover how we’ll support you well before and long after your birth experience.
We’re here to help you find the right obstetrician, certified nurse-midwife or location that’s convenient for you.
Services and Amenities to Meet All Your Needs
At our hospital, we cater to the unique needs of all who give birth. And when you need extra courage, support, reassurance or understanding, we’ve got you. Explore how we’ll support your birth wishes and comfort.
- Pre-Birth Consultations to Know Your Next Steps
-
A few months before your delivery, we encourage you to schedule a pre-delivery consultation with our Birth Concierge. They’ll give you specific information about your delivery, and answer any questions.
And because we’re here to listen to what’s important to you, we’ll ask you questions about how you envision your birthing experience. Questions like:
- “Who will be with you during labor and delivery?”
- “Will a spouse or partner stay with you overnight?”
- “Are there any important family, cultural or spiritual traditions you wish to honor?”
After you tour our facility, we recommend you complete all needed paperwork, so most signatures and signoffs are ready when you arrive for the birth of your baby.
Your nurse also can arrange a meeting with a financial counselor who can answer questions about the cost of your hospital stay, insurance, self-payment plans and financial assistance.
And if you have a high-risk pregnancy, you’ll need timely care and careful attention. Our teams and skilled specialists are here to provide the ultrasounds, diagnostics and procedures that help you most.

- Birthing Suites Designed for Your Comfort
-
Our birthing suites have everything you need when it comes time to deliver. Here, you can expect a private room with a large window and a private bathroom. All rooms offer a sleeper sofa for the support person and a form of water-therapy to use during labor (either a soaking tub or a walk-in shower with a drop-down bench seat to relax in). The support person can purchase food or room service vouchers from the Manna Restaurant on-site. As a special gift, we provide the support person with a few complimentary vouchers. Guests can purchase additional room service vouchers at the Manna barista counter if they wish. Our room service kitchen provides a wonderful variety of meal options.
We also have obstetric surgical suites in case your birth requires a C-section. Our hospital obstetricians are available when needed, too. - Options for Managing Pain 24/7
-
When it comes to managing pain during labor and delivery, we’re here to support you, whether you prefer an unmedicated childbirth or not. Along with epidurals and IV sedation, we offer a wide range of pain management techniques, from the spa whirlpool and aromatherapy to birthing balls, music and more.
You also can ask your provider about nitrous oxide. Only a few hospitals in the country offer it for pain relief. It’s inhaled through a mask, is painless and has minimal side effects.
- Certified Nurse-Midwives to Help With Delivery
-
For your delivery, you have options: you can seek prenatal care with an obstetric practice or from a practice who provides midwives. At our hospital, we support midwifery care for certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) who are extensively trained in nursing and midwifery through an accredited program and have passed an intensive certification exam.
CNMs specialize in primary care for women and offer a personalized approach to pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum concerns. They can even help with lactation and breastfeeding.
A CNM can help if you’re looking for:
- A less traditional birthing method
- Someone to counsel you on ways to achieve your personal goals
- Specific medical advice
When you schedule your prenatal appointment, let us know that you prefer to deliver with a midwife. During all prenatal care and delivery, an OB/GYN will be available in case of any complications.
- Breastfeeding Support for as Long as You Need It
-
As a breastfeeding mother, you can access breastfeeding classes and lactation consultants who can support you before your delivery, while at the hospital and after you go home.
Benefits of Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding offers wonderful benefits for both you and your baby. The American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners recommend breastfeeding for one year. But breastfeeding for any amount of time can offer these benefits:
- Breast milk is natural, economical and convenient, and the best source of nutrition for the first six months of life
- Breast milk is full of all the nutrients, minerals and vitamins your infant needs, and also contains antibodies that lower the risk of infection and illness
- Breastfeeding gives you a way to nurture your baby through close physical contact, and can promote faster recovery for you
No matter what you decide, we’re here to support your feeding choices.
Donating Breast Milk
Some infants have special health needs or require breastmilk from human donors to thrive. If you produce more milk than your baby needs, you can donate it to the Mother’s Milk Bank. We’ll help you with the entire process.
- Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) for Specialized Care

Our NICU network includes:

- Family-to-Family Adoption Support
-
The Family-to-Family Adoption Support program at our AdventHealth Castle Rock hospital offers personalized services to support adoption plans, honoring the patient's wishes and expectant adoptive parents.
We aim to combine expert medical care with compassion and sensitivity for all families. If you are making an adoption plan, and regardless of the degree of openness you choose with the adoptive parents-to-be, our trained Birth Place staff will provide resources and support to assist all involved.
We are a caring, loving and understanding place for parents making an adoption plan for their baby.
