Welcome to a unique concept in emergency care — one that recognizes how important it is to help young children feel safe and confident while being evaluated and receiving treatment for a serious medical issue. If you’ve ever seen the Walt Disney World Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children you know how dedicated we are to creating an environment that feels welcoming to kids. Our kid-friendly emergency rooms are no exception, providing everything from lights that can be adjusted to your child’s favorite color to engaging artwork with animals and characters that kids love.

A Pediatric ER Saved Sebastian's Life

When Sebastian was just one week old, his parents knew something wasn’t quite right. His mother noticed changes in his behavior and weight. So, they brought him to the pediatric emergency department at AdventHealth Celebration. Shortly after arriving, Sebastian stopped breathing. Our pediatric specialists quickly stabilized Sebastian before transferring him to AdventHealth for Children. There, doctors found that Sebastian had a congenital heart condition called supraventricular tachycardia, which causes his heart to beat abnormally fast. Now, with regular medication and monitoring, Sebastian can live a happy and normal life — all because a mother trusted her gut.
