Every Athlete. Every Child. Every Minute Counts
Project ADAM® began in 1999 after the death of Adam Lemel, a 17-year-old Whitefish Bay, WI, high school student who collapsed and died from a Sudden Cardiac Arrest while playing basketball. Defibrillation with an AED might have saved his life. AdventHealth for Children has affiliated with Project ADAM® in order to bring this sudden cardiac arrest prevention program to our state. Project ADAM® Florida has the same goals: to prepare schools to handle sudden cardiac arrest event by helping them start an active public access defibrillation program.
A delay of only 10 minutes from the onset of ventricular fibrillation results in virtually no chance of survival. CPR alone will not treat ventricular fibrillation. AEDs make it possible to provide lifesaving defibrillation rapidly and effectively.
We’re here to help you find the right physician or a location that’s convenient for you.
