Changing Lives One Story at a Time
Within the first few weeks after Teagan's birth, her parents could tell that something was wrong. She still had jaundice, her stomach was distended, and she was very thin and fragile. After returning to the hospital, Teagan was diagnosed with a rare liver disease and became part of the pediatric liver transplant program. Watch Teagan's story to see what happened when her family got a call 39 days later that changed their lives forever.
A Life-Saving Transplant Program Close to Home
Before partnering with UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh to develop a pediatric liver transplant program, there was only one other hospital with this program in the state of Florida. Now with the first pediatric transplant program in Central Florida at AdventHealth for Children, patients have more options and access to life-saving procedures and expertise close to home.
