We love to hear a story of success; how someone "pulled themselves up by their bootstraps" to overcome incredible odds. But there is nothing we can do to earn our way into the presence of God. All our pulling up and trying to do good would compare to a drop in the ocean. Our only hope is to rely fully on grace.
