AdventHealth Manchester Observes National Day of Prayer

AdventHealth Manchester (AHM) observed the National Day of Prayer in a live program which aired on WTBK 105.7 FM radio station.

The program opened as Clay County High School’s ROTC presented the nation’s colors during the national anthem, followed by a warm welcome by Sissel Jacob, CEO of AHM. Jonathan Owens, CMI Coordinator, opened the event with prayer for a moment of reflection and unity, followed by the voices of the students of Appalachian Christian Academy, who sang “America the Beautiful.”

Michael Ledford, Pharmacy Director, shared a heartfelt devotion highlighting this year’s National Day of Prayer celebration theme: “Light up the word, light up the world.”

The program continued with prayers led by hospital and community leaders. Prayer for our community was led by Jamie Couch, Vice President of Operations; prayer for our leaders and government was led by Pastor Brad Stevens; prayer for our military and first responders was led by Roxana Abner; prayer for local businesses was led by Pastor Wes Fugate; Pastor Deni Reis led prayer for the growth and guidance of our schools and churches; and prayer for our hospital and clinics was led Dr. Anita Cornett, Chief Medical Officer.

Shawna Colville blessed the crowd with a heartfelt song: “I Will Sing of the Goodness of God,” and the program closed in a prayer led by David Waston, Director of Engineering.

AHM is blessed and thankful to have a team and community that we can spend time with, in prayer and thanksgiving to God for His love, guidance, and protection.
