AdventHealth Manchester Organizes Events for National Heart Month Awareness

In recognition of February as National Heart Month, AdventHealth Manchester hosted a series of events to raise awareness and educate the community about heart health and wellness. The events were aimed at students from elementary schools in Clay County and their families, and featured presentations from AdventHealth experts on topics such as nutrition, bullying, and the dangers of vaping.

At each event, AdventHealth Manchester team members provided free health screenings, including glucose, cholesterol, and BMI, as well as heart education and tips on how to live a healthy lifestyle based on the CREATION Life principles. The CREATION Life principles are Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal Relationships, Outlook, and Nutrition, and they are designed to help people achieve physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

During the month of February and continuing into March, AdventHealth Providers, and Team Members visited Burning Springs Elementary, Hacker Elementary, Goose Rock Elementary, Manchester Elementary, Oneida Elementary, Big Creek Elementary, and Paces Creek Elementary Schools. The teams shared information about many different topics, including nutrition, heart health, mental health, and bullying to over 300 students and staff members.
