— Matthew Young, APRN, is just beginning his practice as a provider, previously being an RN for the past six and is very excited to start his new journey in his new role. Matthew was born and raised in Clay County. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in biology from Alice Lloyd College, his nursing degree from Hazard Community and Technical College, and his Family Nurse Practitioner program at Northern Kentucky University.
Young has been working for AdventHealth since 2012 and has had many roles during this time. While attending nursing school, he worked as a patient care tech in PCU and a telemetry tech in ICU. As an RN, he worked in ICU, home care, and oncology infusion. While working in Home Care, he developed an interest in Wound Care and considers himself fortunate to begin his nurse practitioner career with Wound Care. “I hope to expand our wound care program to bring in patients from outside of just Manchester. There aren’t many wound care centers in this area, and it’s a specialty that appears to be greatly needed. On a smaller scale, I just hope to play an active role in assisting patients with their wounds, as facilitating the healing process can play a great role in reducing both pain and risk for infection.” said Young.
Young is blessed to have a tight-knit and loving family, both immediate and extended. He and his wife have four children, ages eleven, seven, and twin four-year-olds, and resides in Clay County. AdventHealth Wound Care Manchester is located at 485 Memorial Drive, Manchester, KY 40962. For more information, go to www.adventhealthmanchester.com or call Call606-598-4524.
