James Nelson Named Chief Nursing Officer for AdventHealth Manchester

July 27, 2022 — Sissel Jacob, CEO of AdventHealth Manchester, stated, “We are excited to welcome James to the AdventHealth Manchester family. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in nursing leadership, and I look forward to working with him and seeing the unique and positive impact his leadership will bring to our campus.”

Nelson most recently served as Director of Nursing for AdventHealth Heart of Florida. He has served in multiple leadership roles with a focus on business evaluation and development, quality improvement, patient experience, and employee engagement.

Nelson earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Tennessee State University and went on to obtain his Master of Science in Nursing Administration from East Tennessee State University. Nelson later earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice and his Master of Business Administration from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

“I look forward to continuing our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ here at Manchester,” shared Nelson.

In his free time, Nelson loves to be outdoors and enjoys gardening, beekeeping, and bicycling. In addition to his outdoor hobbies, James is an avid reader and loves to travel and experience new cultures and foods.

Nelson will assume his new role as CNO on August 14, 2022.
