Our Results

We follow the CMS Quality Indicators which is the government's Centers for Medicare and Medicaid nationally ranked tool that measures your ability to care for yourself. There are two main areas measured - Self-Care and Mobility. Self care measures eating, oral hygiene, dressing and toileting. Mobility measures your ability in transferring (from bed to chair, to toilet and to car), walking/wheelchair mobility, picking up objects and going up and down steps. The total Self-Care and Mobility change in a patient's condition after therapy equals the increase in function from admission to discharge on the Rehabilitation Unit. Our rankings are above the national average in these two areas of care for inpatient rehabilitation and comparable to other Inpatient Rehabilitation Units in our service area. Visit www.medicare.gov/hospitalcompare for more information about our rankings.

Admission to the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at AdventHealth Tampa

Medicare pays for the cost of inpatient rehabilitation, provided admission criteria are met and treatment compliance is maintained. The Medical Director approves all admissions according to admission criteria guidelines. This process is subject to Medicare Review.

Insurance, medical assistance and managed care benefits will be verified prior to admission and pre-authorization for admission obtained. This is not a guarantee of payment. Throughout a patient's stay, the rehabilitation liaison will work with the insurance case manager to obtain continued authorization.

Private payment can be arranged through AdventHealth Tampa's Patient Financial Services office. Third party funding sources such as worker's compensation and vocational rehabilitation can be explored as needed in addition to, or with limitation of, other payer sources.

Referral sources, patients and families will be offered alternative placement options when persons referred do not meet the requirements for admission to the program.
