We were the first hospital in the Tampa area and one of the first hospitals in the nation to perform the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure, a minimally invasive treatment option for those unable to receive open heart surgery. With safer, more specialized heart valve disease treatments than other facilities, you can trust our experience and excellence in cardiovascular care. If your cardiologist or physician has determined you may be a candidate for a TAVR procedure, you will be referred to the Structural Heart program at AdventHealth Pepin Heart Institute. Your doctor will either contact our program’s coordinator or speak directly with one of the physicians on our TAVR team. Once our coordinator receives the referral, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment and to start testing procedures.
We will gather information about your medical history from your physicians and facilities that have cared for you. With this information, our TAVR team can determine if additional testing is required prior to your initial assessment. We have designed our program to make this step easy and convenient for you and your family.
