About the Program
We believe that every patient should have a dedicated family physician. Here at the AdventHealth, we aim to train the best family physicians who can take care of over 90% of the patient’s concerns – whether at the office or the hospital. We believe that the family doctor should have a solid, evidence-based training, and we stress the importance of whole-person care.
The Skill to Heal. The Spirit to Care.
Our Family Medicine Residency Program is nestled in the heart of Winter Park, just minutes away from upscale shopping, gourmet dining and picturesque lakes. It offers easy access to I-4, as well as close proximity to the upscale shopping district of Park Avenue.

Inpatient Rotations
The intern inpatient experience is based at AdventHealth Orlando, a 1300 bed, tertiary care center that is the second largest hospital in Florida. The senior inpatient rotations occur at AdventHealth Winter Park, a 300-bed community hospital that treats 15,000 patients annually.
Outpatient Office
Our outpatient facility is the AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at Winter Park (Centre for Family Medicine). Average time spent in office per week is 1 half-day for PGY-1, 3 half-days for PGY-2, and 4 half-days for PGY-3, in addition to many specialty clinics directed by the faculty. Seniors perform nursing home visits at two nursing facilities on a monthly basis.
Electronic Medical Record System
Our residents have access to EPIC in the hospital, at home or anywhere via the web.
Academic Time
Conferences are an integral part of the residency curriculum. Each Wednesday afternoon is set aside for lectures and/or workshops that cover the core content of Family Medicine.
Call Schedule
A night float system in place for OB and inpatient services. Residents share weekend and holiday call.
