Our fellows gain vast experience in all aspects of gynecologic oncology, including extensive debulking procedures, pelvic exenteration, bowel resections, urologic procedures, radiation oncology, critical care medicine, Palliative Care, Oncofertility, chemotherapy, and robust Colon and Rectal Surgery exposure. At the end of each academic year, each fellow has performed an average number of 300 cases as the primary surgeon with an additional 400 cases as assistant.
The fellows will have a comprehensive educational curriculum, covering the breadth and depth of all aspects of gynecologic oncology through clinical exposure, operative experience, quality improvement projects, clinical and transnational research, weekly didactic lectures, and multi-disciplinary conferences. Regular conferences will include didactic review of related curriculum, twice-a-month tumor boards, morbidity and mortality (M&M), and journal club. In addition, the fellows have access to the Nicholson Center which is one of the worlds most innovative surgical simulation training centers. Additionally, the Physician wellness program at AdventHealth has a strong relationship with our Residents and Fellows.

- Research
-
Fellows are actively involved in numerous research projects and have had multiple abstracts accepted for poster presentations at annual SGO meetings, as well as podium presentations at many International and National conferences. The group has had participation in more than 100 national clinical trails as they are continually discovering and incorporating new ways to prevent and treat gynecologic cancer.
Residents, fellows, and faculty involved in required GME scholarly activities receive guidance from the Center for Academic Research Excellence (CARE) through the Clinical Academic Research team, comprised of an Academic Research Mentor, a Project Coordinator, and a Regulatory Coordinator. In addition, the center includes a group of biostatisticians, a health economist, and a medical editor.
CARE assists residents, fellows, and faculty with all types of scholarly activities (case studies, QI projects and research studies), from study design and protocol development, to data analysis and poster, presentation or manuscript preparation.
