Our annual fundraising gala is hosted annually on the first Thursday of November! This year’s Texas Formal Gala will be held November 2, at the Civic Center in Killeen. We expect to host around 800 attendees from the surrounding local communities. This increase in attendance came after the announcement of this year’s musical talent: Take 6, an Adventist Grammy Award-winning sextet. After performing for more than 30 years, the group has gained quite a notable following.
“We’re very excited about changing up the theme and music,” AdventHealth Central Texas Foundation Board Chair Lewis Stubbs III says. “Texas Formal is going to be very apropos for this area, and we’re expecting a great turnout with Take 6 being a famous group and having a big Adventist following.”
Money raised at the annual galas goes toward new modalities requested by departments at our hospital. This year, we are collecting funds for a 3D mammography machine and Hana table for the orthopedics department. “3D mammography is very wanted and needed — but also very expensive,” Stubbs III says. “There are only a few 3D mammography machines in Central Texas.
We all know someone that has been affected by cancer, and 3D mammography will greatly improve early detection rates.” Last year’s gala brought in more than $100,000 for the hospital, and we are predicting that a large turnout will help us surpass those earnings. Efforts made at the annual gala and other fundraising events throughout the year will help us advance our care and offer new treatments for all AdventHealth Central Texas patients.
