Metroplex Adventist Hospital (Metroplex) in Killeen and Rollins Brook Community Hospital (RBCH) in Lampasas are offering discounted digital screening mammograms for $90 throughout the month of October in conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Mammograms can lead to early detection and a better chance for a positive outcome,” said Randy Hill, director of Imaging Services at Metroplex. “We hope that by providing this discount more women in our community can get this important screening.”

According to the American Cancer Society, women ages 45 to 54 should get a screening annually, and women 55 and older should be screened at least every other year.

Appointments are available at the following locations and times for the month of October:

Metroplex: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:15 pm.

RBCH: Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

To schedule a discounted mammogram, call Call254-519-8500 at Metroplex and Call512-564-2212 at RBCH.

The discounted price is open to women age 40 and older who are uninsured or underinsured. The offer does not include previously diagnosed follow-up readings. Women with soreness or lumps should contact their primary care provider. If the screening mammogram detects any areas of concern, Metroplex and RBCH also offer breast ultrasound and breast MRI studies. A separate fee applies if follow-up diagnostics are needed.
