Manchester, Kentucky November 11, 2019—Monday, November 11, 2019, staff and community members gathered in the hospital lobby to celebrate Veteran’s Day. Veterans were recognized and given a small token of appreciation for their service in the United States Armed Forces.

Following the singing of the National Anthem performed by the Clay County High School choir, Chris Self, CEO of AdventHealth Manchester expressed his gratitude as he welcomed the veterans who were able to attend the event. Jamie Couch, AVP gave a short devotion on John 15:13 which reads: “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Mr. Couch encouraged those in attendance to be intentional in sharing gratitude for the service and sacrifice our veterans have made, not only on Veteran’s Day, but every day. He shared how the service and sacrifice of our veterans—to lay down their lives for their country—mirrors the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who laid down his life for all humanity.

To conclude the event, Pastor Tom Kyser of the Seventh Day Adventist Church prayed for all veterans and the families of those who have served and those fallen. Pictured are two of the veterans in attendance: Tommy Martin and Tom Kyser. We thank you for your service.
