Erika Skula, president/CEO for Manchester Memorial Hospital in Manchester, Kentucky, has accepted the role of president/CEO for AdventHealth Carrollwood in Tampa, Florida, effective Oct. 1, 2018. Both facilities are part of the AdventHealth national network of care. Skula will report to Bruce Bergherm, senior executive officer of acute care services for AdventHealth’s West Florida Division, and replaces Joe Johnson who departed last month to run AdventHealth Ocala, the newest member of AdventHealth.
“Erika’s ability to lead teams and form effective relationships with the medical staff is going to be a tremendous asset to Florida Hospital Carrollwood,” said Bergherm. “She has a breadth of experience and we are very excited to have her join the team.”
Skula has served as president/CEO for Manchester Memorial Hospital for the past six years. Prior to that role, she held multiple positions at Manchester, including chief operating officer, chief financial officer and controller. A search for Skula’s replacement will begin immediately and the focus will be on internal candidates who are part of the Adventist Health System executive development program.
“I am deeply committed to growing and deepening our mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ through the services we provide to the Tampa community,” said Skula.
Before she joined AdventHealth, Skula served as chairman of the business and communication department at Kingsway College in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, from 1988 to 2000. She graduated from Andrews University in Michigan and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration. Skula and her husband Joe have been married for 33 years and enjoy water sports and spending time with family and friends.
