Manchester, KY [March 23, 2017] Manchester Memorial Hospital (MMH) held its annual CREATION Life themed Health Fair at EKU Manchester Campus on 23rd March 2017.

The Health Fair was free and open to the public, and offered free health screenings, give-a-ways, door prizes, and information for every family members health.

We are excited to offer various community events like the health fair to the residents of Clay County, said Hurriyat Ghayyur, Director of Marketing at the hospital. In today's world, knowledge is power, and with the information offered at events like this, we learn how to live healthier lives and take care of ourselves.

At the fair, participants learned about heart health, women's health, diabetes control and prevention, smoking cessation, stress management, maintaining a healthy weight, exercise and fitness and much more.

Health screenings such as total cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), blood pressure, blood sugar etc. were done on the spot by the hospital team, accompanied by Air Evac. Encouraging people to get screened and lead a healthier lifestyle is a very important part of what we do, said Ghayyur. The earlier you know if there are any problems, the earlier they can be addressed.

There were many wonderful door prizes to be won that day. Walmart donated two $100 gift cards, won by Barbara Murphy and Anu Gupta, while IGA donated two gift cards worth $50 each won by Carolyn Murphy and Connie Duncan. Willowbrook Women's Center gave away a wooden photo frame won by Amy Smith; Nina Bowman won a fragrance warmer from Family Medical Center; Mary Hibbard won a BP monitor, Misty Hinkel won a UK pillow and Twila Asher won a glucose monitor given away by L.A.Medical Supplies.
