WEST VOLUSIA, NORTH LAKE, AND SOUTH SUMTER COUNTIES, Fla. – AdventHealth has selected Mairilise Pothin Owen to serve as senior vice president and regional chief financial officer (CFO) for West Volusia, North Lake, and South Sumter counties, effective April 20.
In this role, Pothin Owen will oversee the financial operations of three hospitals – AdventHealth DeLand in DeLand, AdventHealth Fish Memorial in Orange City, and AdventHealth Waterman in Tavares – which together serve thousands of patients each year with 737 inpatient beds and a team of more than 4,500 employees.
“As a skilled financial expert, Mairilise understands that every dollar we steward is an investment in the health and future of our communities,” said Lorenzo Brown, president and CEO for AdventHealth’s regional operations in West Volusia, North Lake, and South Sumter counties. “Her leadership will be invaluable as we continue to grow, expand services, and reinvest in the care our communities deserve.”
Pothin Owen brings nearly 20 years of financial leadership experience with AdventHealth, most recently serving as CFO at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Kansas. There, she played a key role in financial planning, contract negotiations, and major capital projects, including a $75 million cancer institute and a $30 million hospital renovation.
She also previously served as CFO for AdventHealth’s Population Health Services Organization, overseeing financial operations and helping to expand access to care for hundreds of thousands of patients.
In her new role, she will help guide AdventHealth’s continued growth in the region, ensuring the health system remains strong and ready to serve for generations to come.
“Health care is about people first, and every financial decision we make should lead to better care, stronger hospitals, and healthier communities,” Pothin Owen said. “I’m honored to join this incredible team and help shape the future of health care in this region.”
Pothin Owen earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southwestern Adventist University and an MBA from Webster University.
