Whole-Person Care Conferences

Caring for More Than the Body

AdventHealth supports several relational initiatives that were developed to help providers engage with one another — and more importantly, support each other. The Whole Person Care Conference (WPCC) is a hospital-based program that allows all levels of employees to discuss the emotional and spiritual sides of a patient case. The goal of this gathering is to discuss how our mission, extending the healing ministry of Christ, was shown in that situation. Attendees can add commentary if they are familiar with that case or experienced a similar case.

What are “Whole Person Care Conferences”?

WPCC’s allows caregivers to talk about the emotional and spiritual side of a patient case. This allows them to share what they experienced as well as how they felt, how it impacted them and the care they provided. The goal of this gathering is to discuss how our mission, Extending the healing ministry of Christ, was shown in that patient case. Attendees can add commentary if they are familiar with that case, and others who had a patient in a similar situation can share their feelings as well. This program is about mission and how we extend it to our patients. It is a reminder of our purpose as we offer high quality care.
