Alap P Shah, MD

Dr. Alap Shah has assumed the role of Interim Program Director since Dr. Swoyer took on her new role in June 2022. Dr. Alap Shah graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, IL. He took the scenic route to family medicine and completed his family medicine residency at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, IL, where he was awarded Resident Teacher of the Year, and served a year as Chief Resident. He joined the LFMR as an associate director in August of 2014. He loves working with patients of all ages (and their families) to help prevent illness and treat it when necessary. In addition, he coordinates the simulation lab, assists with board review and overall feels privileged to be involved with resident education. He is also interested in healthcare equality and is involved in advocating for single-payer financed healthcare.
