Visiting Student Learning Opportunities™ (VSLO®) | Students and Residents (aamc.org)
If your school does not use VSLO, please submit a Clerkship Application for consideration.
- Visiting Residents
-
In support of its educational mission, AdventHealth Orlando Graduate Medical Education provides rotating residents from any ACGME/AOA/CPME-accredited training program in good standing with a clerkship experience. Our clerkship offers a variety of clinical exposures in its residency training programs or with any of its registered AdventHealth Medical Staff members in good standing. The experience is designed to fulfill the requirements as outlined by the Specialty Board of the program. The purpose of this policy is to provide an environment that is safe for patients, office staff, medical trainees and medical staff; respect patients' rights to privacy and confidentiality; and enhance the educational experience of the rotating residents.
- Advanced Practitioner Students
-
GME credentials the following programs: APRN, CRNA, CNM and PA. GME does not provide housing. After completing the application you will be sent an email with onboarding requirements. Advanced Practitioners are responsible for finding their own preceptors and obtaining signatures with specific approved start and end dates for approval. The first requirement for Advanced Practitioners is to determine if a current Academic Affiliation Agreement is in place between your school and AdventHealth Orlando. If a new contract is necessary, it must be approved and signed on the AdventHealth Orlando for inpatient clinical permissions requiring physicians supervision. Further information regarding onboarding will be provided after the application is received.
Orientation
All medical and allied health students must complete the onboarding requirements prior to the start of their scheduled training on any AdventHealth Orlando campus.

What You Will Need
Required Documents
Along with your GME training application, other forms of documentation may be required for a given program. Be sure to submit all necessary materials to be considered for placement.
When applying for fourth year residency audition rotations or clerkship electives through VSLO, you will need to have your CV, personal statement and scores uploaded to your profile for review. If you are approved, you will then upload required documents as directed through the VSLO application service.
We do not use VSLO for international students. We are only able to take international students from specific Caribbean schools where we hold an active academic affiliation agreement. In this case, please go through your clinical coordinator for instructions, as a paper application is necessary.
Third year core rotations are only approved by already established core programs. The onboarding process will be explained once you are scheduled. Third year elective requests require a paper application. Fourth year elective requests outside of VSLO or GME residency programs will also require a paper application.
