Daniel G Hunter-Smith, MD
Dr. Hunter-Smith is the third past program director this program has had. He recently decided to cut back his hours to transition into retirement. He still precepts in clinic one day per week. He was the past Director from December of 2009- December of 2016. He joined the residency in 1994 and has served as the Director of the Family Medicine Center for the past 15 years. Dr. Hunter-Smith graduated from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at Mac Neal Hospital in Berwyn, IL in 1984. After four years in a rural public health service practice in Kentucky, he came to La Grange Memorial Hospital where he completed a Geriatric Fellowship in 1990. He served as faculty in the Geriatric Fellowship Program for four years before becoming a faculty member of the LFMR. Dr. Hunter-Smith holds a certificate in Added Qualification in Geriatrics. He is a proud husband, father and grandfather and loves to spend his time with his family and being out in nature.
