Sarah Weaver, MD

Dr. Sarah Weaver, a Florida native, grew up in Central Florida. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida with a major in Molecular Biology and Microbiology. She attended Florida State University for medical school and graduated in 2013. Dr. Weaver completed her residency at Inova Fairfax in Fairfax, Virginia near Washington D.C. Being close to D.C., she enjoyed participating in advocacy events and attending Washington Nationals games.

After completing her residency, Dr. Weaver returned to Florida. She moved to Jacksonville and served as a faculty member at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville for four years. Dr. Weaver also served as an Associate Program Director for 2.5 years and worked with the leadership team to continually improve the resident experience and to create simulation experiences for the residents.

In 2021, Dr. Weaver moved to Orlando and joined the AdventHealth Hospitalist team because she was excited about the opportunity to be involved with the development of a new residency program. She is passionate about educating future generations of Ob/Gyns and making the strenuous time of residency as enjoyable as possible.

Outside of work, Dr. Weaver enjoys spending time with her husband and miniature schnauzer, hiking, kayaking and being outdoors in the Florida sunshine.

Sarah Anne Cappleman, MD

Sarah Cappleman Shekailo, MD

Dr. Cappleman received her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2014 and then remained at UF for her residency. She then continued on faculty at University of Florida and University of Illinois-Chicago before moving back to central Florida to join AdventHealth Orlando. She is particularly interested in graduate medical education and is very excited to be a part of our new residency program leadership! She currently serves as adjunct faculty for the Florida State and Loma Linda College of Medicine and hosts AdventHealth Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residents in clinic during their Gyn rotations. Dr. Cappleman practices full-scope general obstetrics and gynecology focuses on education and shared decision making in patient care.

D. Ashley Hill, MD

D. Ashley Hill, MD

D. Ashley Hill, MD grew up in Oregon then moved to Florida, where he graduated from Eckerd College then attended the University of South Florida College of Medicine. After an intern year at LSU in New Orleans, Dr. Hill returned to USF to complete a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1994. He has been a part of the academic and administrative team at AdventHealth since 1994.

Dr. Hill is the Executive Medical Director for the AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) employed women’s healthcare clinicians for the Florida region. He believes that physicians working with administrators make a powerful and effective team and this combination best serves our patients, clinicians, and organization. Dr. Hill has held many other previous leadership roles in our organization including program director for the family medicine obstetrics fellowship, division chair of the ob/gyn department, chair of the quality improvement committee, and director of the maternal transport program. He currently serves on several system-wide leadership teams. One of his favorite positions is medical director of the M.O.S.T.® obstetrics simulation team, where he enjoys interacting with members of our obstetrics team across Central Florida.

Dr. Hill is an advocate for medical education and believes that teaching high-quality care to our younger colleagues is critical to the success of our profession. He is the recipient of numerous “best teacher” awards, has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals, previously served on an ACOG patient safety committee, and is a reviewer for several medical journals. Dr. Hill holds academic appointments at the University of Central Florida (Professor), Florida State University (Associate Professor) and Loma Linda University.

Dr. Hill lives in Windermere and outside of work enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, boating on our spectacular lakes, and making jewelry, cabinetry, and woodworking projects.
