Terry Mamounas, MD, MPH, FACS, is the medical director of the breast program at AdventHealth Cancer Institute. He is a board-certified breast surgical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of breast cancer. Dr. Mamounas received his medical degree from the University of Athens in Athens, Greece and completed his residency in general surgery at Mckeesport Hospital, McKeesport, PA. He went on to complete a clinical oncology research fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh and a surgical oncology fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Dr. Mamounas's distinguished career spans more than 30 years. He is a professor of surgery at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and clinical professor of clinical sciences at Florida State University. Since 1997, he has been the chair of the breast cancer committee of the National Surgical Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) and NRG Oncology. Dr. Mamounas has published extensively in the field of breast cancer and has presented his research in numerous national and international conferences.
