Biography

Dr. Pettyjohn is a fellowship trained sports medicine physician, specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries of athletes and non-athletes. He provides his patients with non-operative treatment options including musculoskeletal diagnostic and procedural ultrasound, Platelet-Rich Plasma injections (PRP), viscosupplementation, trigger point injections, as well as concussion management.

Dr. Pettyjohn completed both his residency and sports medicine fellowship at the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. During fellowship, he served as fellow team physician for a number of collegiate and high school teams including the University of Florida NCAA Division I and club sport athletes. His experience focused on concussions as well as the management of acute musculoskeletal injuries including fracture and laceration. In addition, he also served as the sole traveling physician for the University of Florida Women’s Soccer team during the 2021 SEC Tournament.

Dr. Pettyjohn is active in teaching and research focused on sports related topics and holds a professional membership with the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
