Originally from Lebanon, Georges El Hayek, MD received his medical degree from St. Joseph University in Beirut. Dr. El Hayek completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Mount Sinai St. Luke Roosevelt Hospital of Icahn School of Medicine in New York and subsequently moved to Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
Dr. El Hayek is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and echocardiography. His research activities focusing on stents, percutaneous strategies and angioplasty-related pharmacology.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and state-of-the-art interventional skill set to Ocala straight from Emory - the birthplace of coronary angioplasty in the United States. Outside of work, Dr. El Hayek enjoys running, traveling, music and reading and composing poetry.
