Jeff Petrie, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon practicing in the Central Florida area since 2016. He has extensive expertise in hip and knee replacement, including complex revision surgeries. Additionally, his practice focuses on minimally invasive surgery, including the direct anterior approach to hip replacement and robotic total and partial knee replacements. He also performs preservation surgeries for the hip and knee including hip arthroscopy with labral repair, hip resurfacing, and hip abductor tendon repairs.
Dr. Petrie earned his medical degree with honors from the Medical College of Georgia and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Orlando Health, where he received the Orlando Health Exemplary Physician Colleague Award and the 2015 Resident Research Award. He also completed fellowship training in hip and knee reconstruction and preservation at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, performing more than 600 surgeries while there.
Dr. Petrie has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters. He also gives talks at national orthopedic meetings and is active in teaching orthopedic surgeons in training. His current research interests include minimally invasive joint replacement surgery, robotic and quick-recovery hip and knee replacement surgery, revision hip and knee replacement, and joint preservation treatments for hip dysplasia and hip impingement using arthroscopic and open techniques.
