Dr. Machado is a board-certified oncologist, hematologist and internal medicine physician with more than 10 years of experience. He has a special interest in targeted therapies and non-chemotherapeutic approaches to cancer treatment, and he is an advocate for the early management of discomfort and palliative care for cancer patients. He joined AdventHealth Medical Group from Richmond, VA, where he was a practicing hematologist/oncologist and managing partner of the Virginia Cancer Institute. A graduate of the University of Ottawa, Dr. Machado earned his medical degree with honors at Saba University School of Medicine in the Dutch Caribbean and undertook his residency training at the University of Florida/Shands Hospital in Gainesville, where he was named chief resident. He obtained his sub-specialty training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where he completed his oncology/hematology fellowship and was also named chief fellow.
