The breast health network at AdventHealth for Women, formerly Florida Hospital for Women, takes a multidisciplinary approach to diagnostics and treatment, from mammography screening and early-stage diagnosis to breast cancer treatment and dedicated, long-term follow-up care.
Depending on your family history, risk factors and age, screening mammograms should begin between ages 40 and 50. If you’re over 40, you may not need a doctor’s order to schedule a screening mammogram if your breasts seem healthy and you haven’t had a mammogram in the past year*.
If you’re over 25 and notice something unusual that just doesn’t feel or look quite right, it’s always best to schedule a visit with your physician. Breast cancer develops over time and a quick doctor’s visit can make all the difference. We make preventive care easier with the largest network of 3D mammography locations in Central Florida.

Mammography is the best way to detect breast tissue changes. At AdventHealth for Women, you can expect the best breast imaging care. We are an accredited American College of Radiology Breast Center of Excellence (for mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound) and a member of the National Consortium of Breast Centers.
We use both conventional and digital mammography, which features the breast-conforming “smart paddle” design for a more comfortable experience. Our imaging specialists can detect even the most subtle differences between breast tissue with pinpoint accuracy. Masses, calcifications or areas of abnormal density can’t hide from our computer-aided detection (CAD) system, which double-checks the image for breast cancer.
With breast cancer, there’s more hope today than ever before. Our team of surgical oncologists, plastic surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and radiation oncologists are experienced in breast disorders and cancer care — and here to meet your every need.
We’ll create a personalized treatment plan and explain your options, caring for you within a multidisciplinary center known for early-stage diagnosis, advanced treatment plans and positive outcomes.
