Find Hope for Pelvic Health Disorders
Pelvic floor disorders can disrupt life's everyday joys. Whether from childbirth, age, straining, injury or surgery, pelvic floor issues can feel physically painful and emotionally isolating. But conditions like urinary and fecal incontinence are more common than you might think, and they're treatable. Explore how our urogynecologists will help relieve your pelvic discomfort.
It’s common to feel uneasy discussing pelvic symptoms. But know you’re not alone: 1 in 3 women in the U.S. experiences symptoms of pelvic floor disorders.
At AdventHealth for Women, your most sensitive health concerns are always welcomed with understanding, confidentiality and expertise. We want to restore your quality of life by relieving your discomfort — which starts with easing your mind. Our highly skilled surgeons are leaders and teachers in their fields. They provide a wide range of surgical treatments, including the latest minimally invasive techniques (vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic-assisted), which reduce discomfort and shorten recovery time.
Even if your symptoms feel minor, we want to empower you to discuss them with us. When you’re proactive about your health, you can find greater wellness for years to come and prevent any issues with later urinary incontinence, pelvic discomfort, or pelvic organ prolapse. We recommend you call us if you're experiencing any of these symptoms:
- Frequent or urgent urination
- Leaking urine when laughing or coughing
- Painful urination
- Pressure and pain in your vagina, bladder, or rectum
- Vaginal bulging
- Incomplete bladder emptying
We’re always here to listen to your concerns, quickly and accurately diagnose your condition, and provide you with the personalized treatment you need to restore your quality of life when dealing with:
- Pelvic organ prolapse (cystocele, rectocele, uterine or vaginal vault prolapse)
- Urinary incontinence
- Fecal incontinence
- Overactive bladder
- Pelvic floor dysfunction
- Recurrent urinary tract infections
- Vesicovaginal fistula
- Rectovaginal fistula
- Urethral diverticulum
- Urinary retention
- Vaginal mesh complications
If surgery is required, our surgeons utilize minimally invasive surgical techniques including vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic options to get you back to your life faster. Our highly skilled, fellowship-trained surgeons are leaders and teachers in the field of urogynecology and are experts in surgical advancements that offer the following benefits:
- Faster recovery time
- Less pain after surgery
- Lower risk of complications
- Lower risk of infection and bleeding
After your procedure, you may find immediate relief. Specialized pelvic rehabilitation therapy can help you feel even better.
