Experience low-dose CT scans, digital mammography machines taking high-resolution pictures, MRI scanners for women with dense breasts, and ultrasound wands that capture live video — we have them all, right here in Central Florida. During each test, you’ll recline comfortably, nestled in warm blankets.

Growing older increases your risk for osteoporosis, a condition that causes your bones to become fragile. Let’s keep your bones strong — and keep you healthy and independent. At AdventHealth for Women, we can measure your bone strength with a dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, or DEXA, scan at one of our imaging centers.
A DEXA scan is a simple, pain-free test that measures your bone and body mass and delivers precise results. It gives you and your doctor a good picture of your strength and bone health so we can address any weaknesses with supplements, exercise or medication. The stronger your bones, the more you can remain active and independent.
When it comes to your health, you want certainty, always. We want the same thing. When your team needs more answers, they may recommend an ultrasound. These safe, painless tests use sound waves to transmit live pictures to a computer monitor. They can illuminate breast and pelvic tissue, and help your physician make smart recommendations for your health. If you’re pregnant, they help obstetricians get a closer look at your baby, too.
Our technicians take every step to make sure you’re comfortable, giving you as many warm, cozy blankets as you’d like, and even playing music. Later, a radiologist or doctor within the AdventHealth network can view the image from their office and discuss any next steps.
