Clean and Safe Assurance Badge

Your health and safety have always been our top priority. When you trust your care team and feel protected in your environment, your treatment can be even more effective and your body, mind and spirit can be at ease.

But it’s not just about feeling safe — you need to actually be safe. In this time of heightened need, we’re here to protect you while providing the exceptional health care you deserve.

The Clean & Safe Assurance badge is a simple symbol that represents all of the products, policies and procedures we’re using every single day in our facilities. It’s our promise to remain dedicated and vigilant in the continued fight against COVID-19.

Here’s what the Clean & Safe Assurance means for your AdventHealth experience.

Products That Clean and Sanitize

We continue to use a range of reliable, hospital-grade cleaning and disinfecting products that we’ve used for many years. But we’ve also added products that are proven effective against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) or have documented efficacy against coronavirus.

Cleaning Products and Disinfectants

We use disinfectants included on the EPA’s List N (products expected to kill SARS-CoV-2 or EPA registered and labeled as effective against human coronavirus). Some of the products we use include:

  • CaviCide™: Effective against tuberculosis, hepatitis B and C, viruses (hydrophilic and lipophilic), bacteria (including MRSA and VRE) and fungi; can be used in the NICU, operating rooms, isolation rooms, patient care areas and laboratories
  • Clorox Healthcare®: Bleach-based products kill 50+ microorganisms including the COVID-19 virus
  • DisCide®: One-step wipes proven to kill dangerous pathogens in one minute
  • Diversey disinfectants: Products such as Virex® and OxyCide™ offer one-step sanitization
  • Ecolab cleaning products: Wipes and sprays offer quick and effective cleaning and disinfection for a wide range of areas
  • PDI Super Sani-Cloth®: The #1 brand of disinfectant wipes in health care; effective against 30 microorganisms in 2 minutes
  • Perisept: eliminates and prevents the spread of C. difficile, MRSA and 50 other pathogens without alcohol or bleach

Environmental Services

We partner with several companies to maintain our high standards in environmental services (EVS), including Crothall Healthcare. Crothall helps us ensure that our spaces not only look and feel clean, but are safe and sanitary to help protect every patient and team member. Crothall has achieved CIMS and CIMS-GB certification which means they meet industry standards in quality, service, safety and environmental stewardship.

Procedures That Raise the Bar

Around-the-Clock Cleaning

Frequent and thorough cleaning has always been the standard operating procedure at AdventHealth. But now, we’ve added additional staff dedicated to maintaining extremely clean environments throughout our facilities. We’re taking extra care to sanitize areas such as:

  • Bathrooms and in-room sinks
  • Door handles and knobs
  • Light switches
  • Remote controls
  • Tables and other major surfaces
  • Telephones and clocks

Proper Training

It’s not enough to have the right products — you have to know how to use them. Our teams are trained in the proper use of key cleaning products to maximize their effectiveness.

Air Quality Monitoring

Maintenance and monitoring of our HVAC systems is essential. We carefully follow CDC best practices for air exchanges, and have introduced HEPA filtration and UV disinfection to many spaces. We also have portable HEPA systems for use throughout our facilities, and negative pressure rooms in our hospitals used to prevent potentially contaminated air from circulating throughout the building.

Policies That Help Us Protect Each Other

We continue to have enhanced safety protocols in place that were enacted in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These requirements are important guidelines for how our patients and staff interact and help keep each other safe.

Universal Mask Use

We’re stocked with safety supplies and have personal protective equipment (PPE) including masks for all patients, visitors and team members at our facilities. If you arrive without your own mask, we’ll be happy to provide you with one.

Temperature Checks

Have peace of mind that everyone you come into contact with has their temperature checked. Every facility, every time.

Social Distancing

Things like plexiglass barriers and signage, as well as new arrangements for furniture and pathways in our facilities, help everyone keep a safe distance from one another.

Separate Waiting and Treatment Areas

COVID-19-positive and symptomatic patients are carefully quarantined away from other patients and visitors. But rest assured that whether you’re sick or well, you receive the same compassionate, high-quality care.

Contactless Options

If you prefer to keep your distance as much as possible right now, we understand. Many providers are offering virtual visits that can be scheduled anytime, anywhere. When you have an in-person appointment, you can choose to register, pay and check out online, and even wait in your car until a provider is ready to see you.

Transparency You Can Trust

As we navigate the unique challenges of the pandemic, know that we’re dedicated to learning, applying and innovating new ways to best protect you and our community. When you see the Clean & Safe Assurance badge, we hope you feel protected, welcome and empowered to seek the important care you need, whenever you need it.
