Meet Our Mom: Kate F

Kate F and her Husband with their baby

The following is a first-person account of a real family's labor and delivery experience at AdventHealth for Women.

From 22 hours of labor, to 3 hours of pushing, to an unplanned C section, and finally, to my son's brief but unexpected stay in the NICU, my birth experience could have been scary! However, thanks to some of the nurses, I can sincerely say that I will have fond memories of delivering my baby at AdventHealth Orlando.

A huge thank you to my nurses Amber, Kat, and Addie who made my husband and I feel like they truly cared about us and went above and beyond to make me feel physically and emotionally comfortable. And a very special shout out to our son's nurse, Lauren, from the NICU for giving us all the information we needed when things got confusing and a little scary for us as we tried to find out why our baby had to continue to stay in the NICU.

All of these wonderful ladies truly embody the definition of a caring person and I hope that every mom who delivers at AdventHealth Orlando can have at least one, if not all of them, as their nurse.
