Almost a Century of World-Class Care in the Carolinas

Set on the mountainside in Polk County, AdventHealth, formerly St. Luke's Hospital, has been a community fixture for nearly a century. Beginning in 1929 with two doctors and four nurses, we've grown to a team of almost 300 health care professionals with access to state-of-the-art technology and leading-edge treatments.

In 2020, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recognized us as a five-star hospital for patient experience. In 2021, Healthgrades.com ranked us 16% higher than the national average, and we're now number one in the greater Western Carolinas for "outstanding patient experience."

Our community legacy continues to grow. We are one of the top-rated critical access hospitals within a 200-mile radius, rapidly becoming a health care center of excellence in the Western Carolinas. Today and in the future, we’ll continue to deliver world-class care to rural Polk County.
